Our Story - Homes of the West, L.L.C.

Homes of the West, L.L.C. was first organized in 2003 by David L. Gibbs, a real estate attorney with more than 13 years experience in the fields of real estate and manufactured housing. The Company was formed to respond to the need for innovative, affordable housing solutions. Mr. Gibbs has from the beginning focused his efforts on housing solutions which evolve from Factory Construction, including Manufactured Housing, Modular Housing and Panelized Housing.
The Company evolved from two needs in the industry. First, Mr. Gibbs recognized a need within the Affordable Housing industry to provide not only housing which is affordable, but housing which gives people dignity, and true, equity-building opportunities. Too many Affordable Housing Developers focus solely on price, which is a mistake as certain short-cuts can lead to slower appreciation, and therefore less of an equity-building opportunity for home buyers. Additionally, Affordable Housing does not have to be cookie-cutter, unattractive pre-fab boxes, but rather can integrate into existing neighborhoods, or in the case of new neighborhoods, stand out as architecturally innovative housing product which could just as easily be market-priced housing.

The founder of Homes of the West, L.L.C. - Mr. David L. Gibbs is also a real estate attorney, and "of Counsel" to The Gibbs Law Firm, APC, a law firm with unique experience and dedication to manufactured housing issues. As an attorney with The Gibbs Law Firm, APC, Mr. Gibbs has worked extensively with manufactured home community owners, operators, residents and local jurisdictions on a wide range of issues related to community conversion. Mr. Gibbs has worked with owners and investors preparing and reviewing acquisition diligence and financial analysis, has successfully represented clients in obtaining local and DRE subdivision land use approval and has extensive experience facilitating relationships between residents and community owners. In addition to the legal aspects of community conversion, Mr. Gibbs through Homes of the West has acted as a licensed real estate broker facilitating the purchase and financing of subdivided units.
